We all witnessed somebody near us who was doing his or her work and at the same time whistling or repeating some familiar song quietly.I guess this is how they ignore the disturbing feelings and therefore are saved of unnecessary suffering, without really knowing how they succeed!
When we feel miserable we can not really do anything about it directly. That means we can not change the mood directly by turning misery over to happiness. It does not work like that, because by wanting to change our miserable state, automatically we give power and resist to it. Not wanting to feel what we feel at the certain moment is sweeping it under the mat. This is how we become miserable and not willing to thrive.
The shift of our inner state may take some time, not necessary long.Actually we know very well when the downward or upward momentum begins. We are always witness to any change that occurs in our psyche, we only need to learn not to participate in the downfall shift towards the other pole.
IGNORE THE UNPLEASANT AND FOCUS ON DESIRABLE is perhaps the most helpful instruction for those who fall as victims of mood swings. Easier said then done, but very much doable if we are willing to learn the art of living.
